Simon Hughes

Simon Hughes obtained a business degree from Southern Methodist University, then attended Texas Tech School of Law, where he served as a member of the Texas Tech Law Review. Following his graduation, he was hired as a litigation associate at a large firm in Houston. He handled insurance defense and coverage matters, gaining valuable experience in case evaluation, case management, and pre-trial discovery.. Eventually, Simon sought the freedom to represent clients on his own terms. In 1995, he established a solo practice which eventually became The Hughes Law Firm.

Simon has served his clients consulting on a wide variety of legal matters, including consumer protection, personal injury, and product liability claims. Over thirty-five years of legal experience, paired with a keen understanding of business, has provided Simon with insight into how large corporations operate, including the potential legal maneuvers that may be used to attempt to avoid liability.

Simon’s business acumen prepared him for a lasting “Of Counsel” relationship with Stanley Law, specifically focusing on mass-tort dockets, to which he lends his experience and expertise. Presently, he oversees or participates in the development of the NEC and Camp Lejeune dockets. Beyond the law, Simon is a family man and a dedicated community servant (recently elected as a City Councilman in Jersey Village). He and his wife, Anita, enjoy spending time with their three children and eight grandchildren, and their dogs, Luna and Nigel. Simon’s hobbies include sailing, hiking, art, wine, and travel.

Simon is admitted to practice before all Texas state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Western, and Eastern Districts of Texas. In 2002, he became certified in Consumer and Commercial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
